@HYsorry for the delay! I never saw your comment.As for the answer: not fins. Fins are protruding, but they are not heat sources. They are just there to increase surface area and help in heat transfer. Sources are those that actually produce heat. My exp had to do with IC chips on PCBs. these IC chips heat up when they are processing (in a machine like a computer, etc) and they become heat sources. A computer is extremely low on thermal efficiency :)
